Dear Marcus, Paul, Joseph, and John

My name is Mary, I am 77 years old. I am from a family of 12; 6 boys, and 6 girls. Both Parents and 5 Brothers are gone.

My Classmate Anna and I have often discussed the magnitude of sexual sin in Adams County. [her and I attended Adams Central together.]

So to top it off she sent me copies of letters you have written on this subject & when I heard this, I said “Finally someone is stepping out and trying to do something about this!

I started being abused when I was in the 2nd grade & it lasted my entire growing up years, even to after I was married. No, he didn’t have opportunities to do his fondling or touching, [after I was married] But he’d stand somewhere having sex with himself & stand so I could see him. It was a bro-in-law, so every time we’d be together as a family I constantly had to watch because somewhere he’d find a spot to expose himself.

When my sister and/or I would spend the night, we’d always know w/out fail, we’d be molested.

I just want to thank you profusely for taking bold steps & writing these letters to Adams CO.

I always feel a DARK cloud over that county. There needs to be restitution with MANY people who feel that the only “God” they need to obey, is their God of the Ordnung.

They are so DEEP in bondage. They are in such darkness. They have NO IDEA that their man-made rules is their God. They worship their clothes, and the act of shunning. Somehow shunning someone & not eating with them makes them feel they’re doing God a favor when they themselves have NO idea why they’re doing the shunning. To shun seems to give them a feeling of righteousness when at the same time they have no relationship with Jesus. They don’t even know how to have that relationship, or how to accept Jesus into their heart and lives.

What is important to them is to attend church every two weeks and obey the rules.

I cringe every time an Amish person passes, wondering, oh did they have Jesus??
