Letters To Berne

My Name is Marcus Girod.

These Letters are for the Swiss Amish people in Adams County. Each letter will be sent to every address in Adams County due to the grievous report that has been established through many testimonies.

We, as Amish people, have been widely known throughout the world as a quiet, contented, and plain people with a live and let live mentality. Many travel far and wide to see the horse and buggy and see the horse-drawn equipment. We, As Amish, Are widely known for our building capabilities and fine furniture . All seems well that meets the eye.

My grandpa, Pete Girod left Adams County 71 years ago, In part because of the incest and child molestation that occurred in inner circles of this Amish community when he, yet, lived there.

So many years later, I find myself removed from my relatives and Berne. My dad moved to northwest Montana following the call of Jesus Christ on his life. Here I have made my home.

Some 71 years after my grandpa moved out of Adams County, from the northwest corner of Montana, reports of the most egregious acts have reached me. Reports of incest and rape, reports of extreme cases of child molestation and abuse. Unheard of reports of young teenage girls being impregnated by their dad or brothers. All this from people who claim to walk with Jesus closer than others, due to the ordnung idol you worship.

These reports continue to come in, in an ever increasing way, to the point where I can no longer remain indifferent. So I decided to go to Bern with my good friend, Joseph Miller, to see if these horrendous reports were true. These letters are written with a heavy heart, not to tear down but to simply give a voice to the voiceless thousands that have been and are being abused.
