My name is Marcus Girod,
These letters are for the Swiss Amish people in Adams County and the surrounding region. Each letter will be sent to every address in Adams County due to the grievous report that has been established through many testimonies.
The week of the 19th of May, Joseph and I arrived in Berne hoping to have reasonable conversations with you. Going from door to door, when we brought up the subject of child molestation, you quickly pivoted the conversation to the world around you and how evil it is; addressing billboards and magazines with scantily dressed women and insisting to us that that was the issue.
How is it that the most “modestly” dressed culture in the United States, we the Amish people, are the most driven by incest, s-xual addiction and child molestation? We blame our neighbors for being part of the world, yet the fruit that is coming out of the Amish culture is more evil than anything coming from the so-called world around you. Touching our daughters and sons, having s-x with them (which is called rape) brothers against sisters, fathers against daughters) is a crime not only a sin. If this is happening to you and someone is hurting you this way, call out to someone who will help you!
You have abuse committees that are supposed to keep s-x offenders, wife abusers, alcoholics, and the like accountable. The fact that you need abuse committees in your churches shows that you are completely defeated already. Still, reports are that some of the abuse committees are abusing all these things and making matters worse. We have heard reports that some have told their congregation to use different wording when confessing certain sins in front of the church so that the local authorities do not find out about and arrest the abusers. This is further criminal activity. Bishops, is it true that you aid and abet the most vile abusers? Do you insist with your actions that it’s better to have s-x with your children than for a family to be split and a dad to go to prison?
In one of the houses we stopped, there was a young married man. A few young children peered out of the windows as we talked with him on his patio. We asked him about child molestation in his community and if he knew anyone involved in such activity. He began to tell us the ideals of his Amish church. At one point, the subject pivoted to child discipline. He informed us that he believes child discipline is important, but still, he believes that child molestation is taking it a step too far (as a disciplinary measure).
Amish church! Read 1 Corinthians 5:1-5; the apostle Paul writing to the Corinthians. “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate, a man is sleeping with his father’s wife, and you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this, so when you are assembled, and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present. Hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.”
Amish church! Imagine what the apostle Paul would write to you. I say to you, repent and turn from your worship of the Ordnung idol and turn back to Jesus. The day of the Lord is much closer now than it was then, and if you remain in your sins you will be eternally lost.
