My name is Marcus Girod,

These letters are for the Swiss Amish people in Adams County and the surrounding region. Each letter will be sent to every

address in Adams County due to the grievous report that has been established through many testimonies.

Amish people, as we move into the Christmas season we celebrate the gift of Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. Romans 5:8

“But God demonstrated His own love for us in this; while we were still sinners. Christ died for us.”

Earlier this year when in one of the homes we visited in Adams County, we talked to a middle-aged Amish man. After chatting

with him for some time, I asked him (in his view) what must a man do to be saved according to the Christian faith? Immediately,

he grew very cold and told us that he doesn’t believe anyone can know that they’re saved and if that is our view, we should leave

immediately. I asked him what foundational scripture he has for this point of view. His explanation was that anyone who thinks (they

can know that) they are saved is living in a state of pride. Anyone in his church who would say they know they are saved would

be excommunicated. (This is because the Ordnung idol does not allow the assurance of salvation.) When pressed further on what

scripture he has to back up his claim, we were told that the bishops read the Bible and teach it and if I wanted verses out of the Bible,

I would have to go find them myself.

Let’s take the first statement of the Amish man. - Knowing you are saved is walking in a state of pride. As a Christian, the worst

form of pride anyone can walk in is disagreeing with God. His Word says: Revelation 1:5 “....and from Jesus Christ, who is the

faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the Kings of the Earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our

sins by his blood.”

Here it says Jesus freed us from our sins by the blood He shed. Immediately after reading this verse; if I were to tell you that I am

not free from my sins but must still do my part and work as hard as I can to be accepted by Jesus when He comes back, or when I die

(and this is what many of you say), this is the worst form of pride and arrogance towards our Savior Jesus Christ. The Father gave up

his only son Jesus to pay for a sin debt that you and I would never pay for, regardless of how many Ordnung idols are propped up.

Do you view this with contempt and say (with the Ordnung idol you worship) “It was not enough.” Why was Jesus sent at all if His

blood does so little in your lives? What makes you think that the rules of the Ordnung idol can be put on the same scale next to the

blood of Jesus? On one hand you have Jesus and His blood sacrifice paying for our sins. On the other hand, you have the 3 inch rim

on your hats and that is supposed to help you get into heaven? On one hand, you have Jesus and his blood sacrifice. On the other hand

you have a shirt without a pocket, and that is supposed to help you get into heaven? If Jesus, the son of the living God, the Creator of

all things gave His life for you but after this you say. “It wasn’t quite enough. I must help him pay for my sins, and only wear black

shoes.” There is no greater form of pride than to think that you can help Jesus pay for your pile of sins (that reach to heaven and back)

with steel wheels (instead of rubber wheels) on your buggies (Or whatever your Ordnung allows or forbids).

Let’s take the next statement of the Amish man. The Ordnung idol does not allow us to have assurance of salvation.

This concept alone reinforces the fact that the Ordnung idol is working against the kingdom of God and not for it. This demonic

mindset has sent more Amish people to the grave without Jesus than any other mindset among the Amish. This is set up as a substitute

or a replacement for the blood of Jesus. His blood is the only thing that will save anyone in the end.

We were told by many of you that if the Ordnung idol was good enough for our parents and our grandparents, it is good enough

for us. This mindset has also sent many Amish people into an eternally dark grave without Christ. Luke 14:25-27 “Large crowds were

traveling with Jesus, and turning to them, he said. If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children,

brothers and sisters, yes, even their own life, such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow

me cannot be my disciple.”

The Ordnung idol tells us that we must keep a completely unbiblical set of rules to make us as righteous as we can become,

with the best chance of making it to heaven. This is altogether untrue. If your parents or grandparents believed this and died,

they are eternally lost. If you continue in their ways believing this, you will also be eternally lost.

I tell you, “turn from this idol, repent to Jesus for your sins, and you will be saved.” If you surrender your life and say this:

Jesus, forgive me, I am a sinner, I will never be able to pay for my sins. I am completely and utterly lost. But, I turn to you,

Jesus! Now I repent and ask that you wash my sins away with your blood and make me new.

Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you

will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far off, for all whom the

Lord our God will call.”

Amish people, the Lord is calling us to a 2nd reformation; to step into the Kingdom of God to make disciples for Him from

all nations, all peoples and all languages. If you will ask the Lord into your life and also ask Him for the Holy Spirit. He will

give to you without measure! John 3:34 “For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit

without limit.” If you receive the Holy Spirit and pursue Jesus by reading the Word and spending time with Him in the secret

place, the demons of depression, lust, anger, impatience, and the like, will begin to peel off of your mind like the layers of an

onion. The Holy Spirit will make His home in you and will set you free from the inside out.

John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish,

but have eternal life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in

Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of

God’s one and only Son.”

Unbelief is something you must turn from and fight the good fight of faith. Read the book of Ephesians. You must believe

that the sacrifice of Jesus was enough to pay for your sins. You must believe in faith.

Romans 10:8-10 “But what does it say? The word is near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart. That is, the message

concerning faith that we proclaim. If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him

from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you

profess your faith and are saved.”

Revelation 3:20 “Here I (Jesus) am. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come

in and eat with him (them) and he (they) with Me.
